James Evans image

James Evans
PNNL

James Evans is a chemist with the Molecular Bioimaging and Cellular Dynamics team in PNNL's Environmental Molecular Sciences Division and the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) user program. Evans supports the electron microscopy capabilities and develops new technologies and methods for in situ and dynamic multiscale and multimodal bioimaging. He oversees the operation of the cryo-transmission electron microscope (Krios G3i) with direct electron detector for structural biology applications. He is also integrating two Class IV pulsed lasers with a dual aberration corrected JEOL 2200FS to create a new dynamic transmission electron microscope, or DTEM, in the EMSL Quiet Wing. This unique instrument will enable pump-probe, high-resolution electron microscopy on the nanosecond to microsecond timescales to visualize biological macromolecular dynamics in real-time.

Jon Jacobs image

Jon Jacobs
PNNL

Jon Jacobs is a leading proteomics researcher at PNNL and facilitates the application of the Laboratory's mass spectrometry (MS) technologies toward the needs of OHSU researchers. He also supports Dr. Webb-Robertson in managing the flow of MS-focused collaborative projects and works directly with OHSU researchers to drive projects to fruition.

Vlad Petyuk image

Vlad Petyuk
PNNL

Vlad Petyuk is an expert in proteomics and data analysis. His current focus is on application of a variety of proteomics approaches (targeted, PTM, top-down) to the field of neurodegeneration. He also develops novel computational approaches for proteomics data analysis.

Larry David image

Larry David
OHSU

Larry David is a protein chemist with 36 years of experience at OHSU researching structural proteins of the lens and the unique modifications causing cataract, including over 20 years of experience studying proteins using mass spectrometry. He is the faculty advisor of the OHSU Proteomics Shared Resource (PSR), where he assists OHSU researchers with the development and execution of their proteomics projects, and is currently Professor of Chemical Physiology & Biochemistry, with an additional appointment at the Casey Eye Institute.

David A. Dorr image

David A. Dorr
OHSU

David A. Dorr, a Professor of Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology and additional appointment in the Department of Medicine at OHSU, has been a researcher and clinician at OHSU since 2005. He is OHSU’s Chief Research Information Officer, where he focuses on improving capabilities and use of innovations to manage data, information and knowledge in research and in translating it to health care.

Ashok Reddy image

Ashok Reddy, PH.D.
Director, Proteomics Shared Resource, OHSU School of Medicine

Ashok Reddy, the PSR’s core director, is a bioanalytical chemist and manages proteomics projects across OHSU. He has 30 years of research experience in both academia and industry, and 23 years of experience conducting proteomics/biomarker discovery studies in a vast array of sample types. His research interests are in disease biomarkers in body fluids and tumor markers in cancer tissues.

Bill Rooney image

Bill Rooney
OHSU

Bill Rooney is the director of OHSU's Advanced Imaging Research Center (AIRC) and a leader in cutting-edge research in magnetic resonance (MR) science and technology, where he provides key expertise to OHSU researchers in live imaging. His research focuses on the development and application of quantitative MR techniques to characterize tissue structure and function.

Steve Reichow image

Steve Reichow, PH.D.
OHSU co-lead investigator for the Pacific Northwest Cryo-EM Center
Associate Professor, Chemical Physiology & Biochemistry and Vollum Institute

Steve Reichow obtained his PhD at the University of Washington, where he used NMR to solve protein structures. He then did postdoctoral Research at UW and HHMI Janelia Farms using cryo-EM to investigate protein structure. He joined the faculty of Portland State University in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020 with a joint appointment at OHSU (Oregon Health & Science University). He is relocating to OHSU full-time this fall. His Lab applies biochemical methods, coupled with atomic-level imaging and structure determination (by cryoEM) to understand protein function. It is through this research that he became intimately involved in the Pacific Northwest Cryo-EM Center, called the PNCC, and was recently appointed as the OHSU side co-lead for the PNCC.
